Kings Dominion Offers Free Admission For Public Safety Appreciation Day

Kings Dominion has just made their announcement for 2017 including a Planet Snoopy upgrade, new park Wi-Fi , an updated mobile app, and a Fun Pix digital photo pass. Now they’ve partnered with the Virginia Public Safety Foundation to celebrate those who protect and serve with FREE ADMISSION for Public Safety Appreciation Day!

On Sunday, September 11, Kings Dominion is saying thank you to the statewide public safety community by offering free park admission to active fire, police, and EMS personnel. Families can spend the day celebrating and honoring their public safety worker while enjoying a family friendly park.

“The Virginia Public Safety Foundation is glad for this opportunity to partner with Kings Dominion in giving back to our commonwealth’s first responders,” said Billy Sheldon, Virginia Public Safety Foundation President, “Public Safety Appreciation Day is an opportunity for fun and relaxation as well as support for times when our police and firefighters need it most.”

The general public can also support the cause! General Admission guests may purchase the Public Safety Appreciation Day special ticket for only $29.99 and $5 of each ticket sold will be donated to the Virginia Public Safety Foundation’s Line of Duty Death Grant. The grant offers immediate cash grant assistance to families of public safety officers killed in the line of duty.

To qualify, a valid fire and police photo ID must be presented at Kings Dominion. Fire and police badges and identification cards are accepted only if accompanied by photo ID. As all ID must reference specific fire or police duty, government-only IDs will not be accepted.

  • ABC Officers
  • Fire Fighters
  • Corrections Officers
  • Court Officers
  • DMV Officers
  • EMT
  • Game Wardens
  • Sheriffs
  • Local Police
  • Park Rangers
  • National Guard
  • State Police
  • Va Port Authority
  • 911 Dispatchers
