Last Day Announced For Tower of Terror At Disney California Adventure
Just a few weeks ago Disney announced that The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror would be leaving Disney California Adventure to make way for Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: Breakout! This will be the first official Marvel ride in a U.S Disney Park since the Marvel purchase and could be the start of more Marvel-themed rides and attractions popping up at the parks.
This left fans with one question… When will be the final ride on Tower of Terror? Finally, we have the official closing date for Disney California Adventure’s version of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror!
Beginning in summer 2017, the outrageous gang will appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: Breakout! Guests will be completely immersed with the characters from the “Guardians of the Galaxy” film as they come face-to-face with the Collector, Tanaleer Tivan. He has created a new unique collection of fauna, relics, and species- but his top attraction is the Guardians of the Galaxy themselves! Don’t worry though! Rocket has a plan to break free, all he needs is a little help from you.
The free fall sensation we all know and love from The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror will be enhanced with new visual and audio effects to create a variety of ride experiences. The new ride will feature several different ride programs that can take place, each with its own motion profile, special features, and even a custom soundtrack for each.
Fans of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror shouldn’t worry though. The spookiest time of the year just got spookier. Beginning September 9 and running through October 31, guests can drop in for “Late Check-Out” on the ride before it takes its last guests on January 2, 2017.
The “Late Check-Out” experience puts a whole new twist on the ride- it will be in complete darkness! Along with that, guests can check out exclusive ride-themed merchandise including food and beverage items. The event will also play up the Hollywood Tower Hotel theme we’ve all come to love. Guests will be able to take pictures of themselves “checking out” at a special picture location in front of the hotel. There will also be special performances throughout the day by the Silver Lake Sisters who performed at the rooftop lounge of the hotel during their career.
