Tembo Falls Construction Update At Holiday World
In case you missed our previous Voyage off-season re-tracking story, Holiday World and Splashin’ Safari is investing $3.5 million in new attractions and other improvements for 2018 including the Tembo Falls complex and Tembo Tides wave pool. However, the park recently provided us with an update on the new Tembo Falls complex.
The new slide complex will be placed in-between Kima Bay and Mammoth. Currently, work is being done to assemble the racing slides of the Tembo Falls attraction. The process involves 27 individual fiberglass pieces that will be assembled into three large sections over the course of two days. Each slide ends with a “run out, so there aren’t any splash pools.
Christmas comes early in the town of Santa Claus as Holiday World adds a full package of goodies!
“We’re adding a fun elephant-themed water-play area for younger children,” says park president Matt Eckert. Tembo Falls and Tembo Tides are designed for children who are under 54 inches tall, but their older siblings and parents are welcome to enjoy the slides and wave pool with them.”
The park also provided us some interesting trivia. Did you know that?
- The combined length of all the slides for Tembo Falls is 437 feet.
- The Yellow Bowl Slide has the most number of pieces (30).
- The entire attraction consists of 147 pieces that need to be assembled
