Disney Offering 3 New Limited Edition Magic Bands
Disney has recently announced the release of 3 limited edition Magic Bands referencing historical milestones, popular fads, as well as Disney movies.
On March 5th, Disney will be releasing a “Purple Wall” Magic Band that release references the social media fad of taking selfies outside the brightly colored Tomorrowland Terrace in the Magic Kingdom. We expect these new bands to have special effects when swiped at a touch point around the parks.
Along with the Magic Band, new hats featuring the purple wall will also be sold.
Starting on March 12th, limited editions of the Star Wars Magic Bands will go on sale. These feature a variety of decorations themed around the the World of Star Wars including the Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire.
On March 26th, 2000 Limited Edition Animal Kingdom Magic Bands will be specially sold in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. These Magic Bands were created as part of the celebration of the Animal Kingdom’s 20th anniversary.
These limited edition items will only be on sale for two weeks, so they will sell out—get them while supplies last!
MagicBands are wearable technology tied to the My Disney Experience app. They are used for park entry, maintaining FastPass+ reservations and opening hotel room doors at Disney resorts.
Although the original MagicBands, introduced in 2013, came only in solid colors, subsequent designs have saluted Disney characters, movies, anniversaries and details within attractions. It’s a trend that Disney has implemented in other collectibles such as pins and Vinylamation, the themed plastic figures.
