Bobbejaanland Launching New Roller Coaster in 2019
Bobbejaanland has announced their intentions to create the largest investment in park history for the 2019 season.
An all new section of the Belgium park will span 5 acres which includes the current Typhoon (Eurofighter) and Sledge Hammer (Giant Frisbee) attractions. However the highlight of the new section will be a triple-launch coaster. The image below shows the location of the proposed site.
The park has released limited details about the new triple-launch coaster. What we do know is that it will be manufactured by Gerstlauer, and be the tallest, fastest, steepest, and most inverting launch coaster in the Benelux region (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg).
From that information alone, it is fair to assume that the ride will have at least speeds of 62.8 mph, reach heights of 147 feet, and invert at least 3 times. This can be concluded from the current launch coaster record holders (Pulsar and Xpress: Station 13) for the region.
This is the second triple launch coaster manufactured by Gerstlauer. The first installation, Gold Rush at Attractiepark Slagharen, (shown below) opened in 2017 to excellent reviews.
