Cedar Point’s Winter Chill-Out 2017 Details
Each year, Cedar Point hosts an awesome off-season event called Winter Chill-Out. The event takes place in February and gives coaster enthusiasts a change to view the park during its winter hibernation. The ticketed event includes a tour of the park in its winter state and some of the behind-the-scenes areas as well as a presentation. The purchase of a ticket benefits A Kid Again, an organization that raises money to benefit families with a child battling a life-threatening illness.
During the tour, guests have the opportunity for a sneak peak of changes being made at the park for that year. For 2017, Cedar Point will be showing off the new Cedar Point Shores. The park’s communication director, Tony Clark, recently posted the caption and photos below of water slide pieces on his social accounts, so we’re sure there will be some great construction progress for guests to view!
“We’re ready to slide into summer! Well, not quite yet – gotta put Point Plummet together. Who’s got the instructions? #CedarPointShores” – TonyClarkCP
Last year’s event included an exclusive tour of the new Breakers Hotel, a close up look at the new paint jobs on Raptor and Top Thrill Dragster, PLUS, coaster nerds got to try out the shiny new seats on Valravn’s trains!

Winter Chill Out 2017 will take place on February 25, 2017. Tours begin at 8:00 AM and run every 30 minutes until 10:30. With the purchase of the $50 ticket/donation, guests will receive:
- A guided, walking tour of Cedar Point
- A close-up view of the NEW Cedar Point Shores Water Park
- Lunch
- An exclusive presentation by park management
- A behind-the-scenes look at locations not normally accessible to guests
Each year the park has also given out surprise swag as well! So fingers crossed!!
