Arnolds Park Building Chance Carousel Funded With Donations

Arnolds Park is a historical nostalgic amusement park located in Arnolds Lake, Iowa. For the 2018 season, they are building a brand new 36ft diameter Carousel, that was completely financed by donations to the park!

The ride will be enclosed within a gazebo, in order to protect it from the harsh elements. It will include standard horses, as well as a chariot, a wheelchair accessible chariot, an elephant, a tiger, a lion, 5 upgraded large horses, plus, an assortment of other animals.

The park is extremely excited about the new addition. Arnols Park CEO, Jeff Vierkant, detailed the importance of the new ride:

“The staff and Amusement Park Board are very excited about the addition of this new ride. Our carousel sits at the very front entrance of our Park and this is going to be a show stopper as families walk into our Park.”

A recognition event is planned for June to honor the donors who made this ride possible. The park is in the middle of a “Restore The Park” campaign, as the opening of the carousel signals the end of Phase 2 of the project. Phase 3 will begin after Labor Day. Here’s a quick look around the park from our last visit in August of 2017.

Arnolds Park will open for the 2018 season on May 19th, 2018. For more information about Arnolds Park, please visit their official website by clicking here.
