WWE Women’s Champion Sasha Banks Headed to Kennywood in Pittsburgh
WWE is in Pittsburgh this Sunday for their “Road Block” Pay-Per-View event at PPG Paints Arena. When WWE is in town (especially Pittsburgh) you can almost guarantee there will be special appearances or meet-and-greet sessions taking place somewhere surrounding the city.
Kennywood Park in Pittsburgh, is closed for their regular season of thrills, but the park is open weekends in December for its annual Holiday Lights event. Each night during the event, guests gather around the Kennyville stage as a local Pittsburgh celebrity shares the classic Christmas story “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” with the audience.
It was just announced that WWE Women’s Champion Sasha Banks, will be at Kennywood Park on Friday night to read “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas”. “The Boss” will read the Christmas classic at 8:20 p.m. on the Kennyville Stage!
Originally WWE legend Mick Foley was scheduled to be there, but according to the park, he can’t make it due to scheduling issues. (We hope that he might still show up!) 🙂
A lot of the WWE superstars (especially injured ones) do more meet-and-greets / guest appearances in Pittsburgh than anywhere else. Mainly due to the fact that many of the superstars receive medical care and rehab in Pittsburgh since WWE’s medical Director, Dr. Joseph Maroon, is based in Pittsburgh. Daniel Bryan and Finn Bálor are among some of the biggest names that recently were treated in the burgh who did various special guest appearances during their rehabs. With that said, we wouldn’t be surprised if more superstars show up at Kennywood with The Boss: Sasha Banks, this Friday night!
New this year to Kennywood’s Holiday Lights is a visit Kennywood’s own Gingerbread Village! In addition to the parks 90-foot tall Christmas tree (the tallest on record in Pennsylvania) and the return of The Polar Express: A 4-D Experience, visitors can see a display of miniature homes built out of gingerbread!
Kennywood’s annual Holiday Lights event takes place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through December 23. For tickets and more information including the special guest readers, visit the official Kennywood website by clicking here.
