The Joker Roller Coaster Opens At Six Flags Great Adventure
Thrill seekers visiting Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey have taken their first rides on the parks newest roller coaster, The Joker!
The new 4D, free-fly coaster increases the parks roller coaster count to an impressive 14! The Joker is very unique as there is no track below you and nothing but the sky above you. The ride features one-of-a-kind onboard magnetic technology that creates smooth head-over-heels free-fly flips providing you the feeling of weightlessness as you soar outside the confines of a traditional track. The random combination of flips, drops and ultra-cool straight-up 120-foot lift makes this coaster totally different than all the other world-class coasters at Great Adventure. The coaster features over 21 different variations of the ride, so chances are, no ride will be the same for guests.
“It was amazing! Absolutely loved it!” said Jordan and Len Smashey who took their first rides during the passholder preview event.
The Joker isn’t the only thing new for 2016. The Harley Quinn Crazy Train has made it’s debut! Guests better hold on tight, the ride on this train is crazy!
For 2016, Six Flags has rebranded and re-themed Blackbeard’s Lost Treasure Train into The Harley Quinn Crazy Train. Keeping with the characters’ close relationship in the DC Comics universe, Harley Quinn Crazy Train (the older, formerly pirate-themed ride, whose maximum speed is 22 mph) is adjacent to The Joker in the park. But the Crazy Train is being cast as a more sedate alternative to The Joker, which flips riders six times over the course of their high-flying journey.
John Fitzgerald, president of Six Flags Great Adventure said:
“As ultimate thrill-seekers flock to the new, jaw-dropping coaster The Joker, family-sized thrills will be right next door with Harley Quinn Crazy Train”.
The re-branding precedes one of this summer’s major theatrical releases. Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) and The Joker (Jared Leto) will hit the big screen on August 5 in the much buzzed-about movie “Suicide Squad.”
