Major Mako Update From SeaWorld Orlando
SeaWorld Orlando is in its final stages of testing before opening a new record breaking roller coaster called MAKO. With just two weeks from opening, there’s new changes almost daily in the area surrounding the coaster! New merchandise, signage, and other updates around SeaWorld have been recently added.
One of the most significant changes guests will notice when entering the park is the 50th Celebration sign. The sign has been updated to just say SeaWorld Orlando. It’s still in the same location and still has a full time photographer posted in front of it.
A few weeks ago we covered the Pass Member Town Hall event at SeaWorld with CEO Joel Manby. At the event, he announced a partnership with Guy Harvey, a clothing company focused on animal conservation and education. For a limited time, pass members can purchase a Guy Harvey plastic annual pass for five dollars, and the proceeds will benefit the Guy Harvey company. The passes can be bought in the pass member lounge or at guest services at the park entrance (we recommend the lounge because the wait time is much shorter).
Next, there is a really cool trash sculpture at Terrace BBQ restaurant (named Finn) on display.
On May 23 and 24, Guy Harvey himself was at SeaWorld painting a mural next to the Mako entrance. (Unfortunately the lift he used to paint the high points was still there in the way).
We’re not done yet! The Fins gift shop has re-opened and has some awesome new Mako merchandise, and several Guy Harvey shirts! The shirts range from $25-30. We already scooped up a few shirts ourselves! Follow along on our socials as we just might be giving some away!
While most of the shirts are more focused on the Guy Harvey shark, the shirt below features Mako:
Season Pass Holders have the option to purchase some really cool (and cheap) exclusive merchandise in the passholder lounge! We love the these passholder shirts with the left chest and full back design, especially for only $10.00!
Merchandise isn’t the only benefit for pass members. As you may know, pass members can order from an exclusive dining menu in the lounge. SeaWorld unveiled a new menu in the pass member lounge recently featuring new items such as Meatball sliders, Hummus wrap, chili Frito pie, and more. This is a really nice perk!
A Coke Freestyle truck is undergoing final preparations for opening this weekend. It’s across from the Mako entrance and Nautilus Theater.
Lastly, the sign has been erected! Only one more week until the small barricades are completely removed!
MAKO will make its world debut on June 10, 2016. Can’t wait until June 10? Don’t! Climb aboard two days earlier! Thrill-ride fans itching to board SeaWorld Orlando’s spectacular new Mako roller coaster can skip the lines and be among the first to experience the most anticipated attraction in Central Florida this year, by participating in a special seat auction to benefit Give Kids The World Village! June 7-10, we will be attending a multi-day MAKO media event at SeaWorld where we will be providing LIVE UPDATES on our socials.
