Parc Astérix to Build Intamin LSM Launch Coaster
In 2017, Parc Asterix located in Plailly, France – released Pégase Express, a family multi-launch Gerstlauer coaster. Now, it seems the park is planning to build something much bigger.
Looking into the future, the park is planning to debut a new Intamin LSM launch coaster in 2021. This was revealed in an unusual manner, by means of an interview with strategic director Frédéric Dubosc on the French TV show Sept à huit. Video inserts played during the interview were of the highly popular Taron at Phantasialand.
Further details about the ride dimensions or locations have yet to be revealed. What we do know is that this new addition will conclude a successful 10 year expansion of the park, which included the addition of crowd favorite attractions such as OzIris in 2012 and Pégase Express in 2017.
This follows an addition of two new hotels at the park. One in 2018 named La Cite Suspendue (Hanging City) featuring 150 rooms and one in 2019 dubbed Les Quais de Lutece.
This will be the second Intamin LSM coaster announced within the past year. Recently, Linnanmäki announced it’s 2019 addition, Taiga, a dual launched coaster with 4 inversions.
