New Dual Launch Hover Bike Roller Coaster Coming To Six Flags New England
Six Flags New England is set to thrill visitors with the debut of its newest attraction for the 2025 season, the Quantum Accelerator.
Manufacturered by Intamin, Schaan, and Liechtenstein, this innovative roller coaster promises to be a game-changer. It combines cutting-edge technology with a captivating steampunk theme, marking it as the first dual-launch straddle coaster in New England and the parks 12th roller coaster.
The ride’s unique design allows guests to mount a steampunk-themed hover bike, where they straddle the seat and grip handlebars as they lean forward into their 2 minute and 14 second adventure.
The coaster’s first launch propels riders into a series of sharp twists, turns, and ground-hugging curves, setting the tone for a high-speed journey. Midway through the ride, a second launch accelerates the vehicle to a thrilling 45 miles per hour, adding another layer of intensity to the experience.

The Quantum Accelerator’s track stretches over 2,600 feet, offering riders 11 moments of airtime as they navigate a landscape filled with mechanical marvels and Wild West elements. The steampunk theme enhances the sense of adventure, immersing riders in a world where the past and future collide.

According to park lore, the coaster was conceived by the eccentric inventor Professor Screamore, who secretly purchased the abandoned Wild West outpost of Crackaxle Canyon. Fascinated by time travel, Professor Screamore dreamed of blending old-world steam-powered technology with modern innovations to create a machine capable of hurtling through time at breakneck speeds. The result is the Quantum Accelerator—a ride that promises to launch thrill-seekers into both the past and the future, steampunk style.
