New Attraction Coming To Central Park Fun-Land FEC in Virginia
Central Park Fun-Land opened in 1997 as one of the original anchors within Fredericksburg’s premier superstore and retail destination. Located in Fredricksburg, Virginia, the indoor / outdoor Fun Entertainment Center is getting a $1 million dollar makeover for the venues 20th anniversary!
Tonight, Central Park Fun-Land hosted a media event where they announced some major changes coming to the Fun Center. The event was kicked off with Central Park Fun-Land’s managing partner, Chuck Peitz, along with GM, Clint Novak — attracting Fredricksburg local news media, radio stations, and even Mayor, Katherine Greenlaw. There, Central Park Fun-Land reps spoke about upgrades to the venue plus, announced some exiting attractions, which Novak says will be the biggest investment in Fun-Land’s history!
Over the past 18 months Central Park Fun-Land has added new paint, carpet, new rides, and even more arcade games. Along with renovations to the play place’s interior, such as remodeled restrooms, they are now bringing in one of the most exciting wall climb options on the market; “Clip ‘n Climb.”
Peitz said, “New bathrooms don’t sound sexy, but believe me, moms care about bathrooms and we care about moms wanting to bring their children to Fun-Land”.
Central Park Fun-Land wants to include much more for the whole family to enjoy, including the new Clip ‘N Climb. The new attraction offers more than just the standard climbing wall. It features some very unique elements such as “Face to Face” (a two-sided, clear Plexi-glass wall so climbers can compete face to face) “The Twister” *shown below, and more. And the best part? Guests will be able to enjoy this new attraction before the end of 2017!
Peitz referred to the new attraction as “a rock climbing wall on steroids”. GM Novak continued that “it’s an amazing interactive attraction that gives kids and adults several different elements to climb in. We’re going to have seven different elements with nine different climbing walls”
Chuck Peitz also discussed some of the partnerships Central Park Fun-Land has for giving back to the community. The venue is continuing to work with other local businesses such as hotels for package deals and discounts. Fun-Land’s goal is to be a resource to the community. In 2017 alone more than $7000 in party packages and play value have been donated to be used as a fundraising tool for local charities. Fun-Land is working, near-term, to expand its business collaborations and relationships. Recently, the center gave out of town training staff at the new BJ’s Brewhouse in Central Park, $600 in Play Cards fill some of their downtime, have some FUN, and team build!

“If we refer business to each other then we keep the dollars local, visitors stay longer, we can employ more people, and we have a greater positive impact on our community’s economy” said Novak.
For those who love getting every coaster credit they can, this will also be the last opportunity to ride Jet Star, Central Park Fun-land’s small roller coaster. Jet Star will be removed to make room for the new Clip ‘N Climb climbing wall. No set date for the removal is in place, but should be near the end of 2017.
Fun-Land guests can have FUN for 365 days a year with a season pass! Season Passes are available now! For tickets and more information visit the official Central Park Fun-land website by clicking here.
