New Addition To Cedar Point in 2015
Cedar Point is getting ready to announce their new attraction and boy are the rumors buzzing! We have heard the park will add everything from new rides, to a new coaster, a new boardwalk, and even a coaster re-design…
Cedar Point spokesman Tony Clark has been teasing the new addition on social media the past few days. Clark teased us earlier today again with a list with his “things to do” for Monday, which included all the rumored new additions.
So what will the new addition be? Your guess is as good as ours. Although, we think it will be repainting the Mantis, and converting the trains to a floorless style. It’s also possible that Mantis could be renamed King James, after a promise the park made to name a coaster after LeBron James if he returned to the Cleveland Cavaliers basketball team, which he did. To sweeten to rumor, earlier this year, a section of the Mantis’ track was seen with green test paint, which was LeBron’s high school colors. Then a few weeks ago, the park staff randomly gave away hundreds of Mantis buttons to guests for free. Why? No one knows…

The rumor we heard most is the revamping of Mean Streak. Coaster fans are hoping for one of the Six Flags RMC makeovers, but things don’t look promising as Six Flags has an exclusive rights contract with those type of re-designs.

Another rumor is adding a new new dark ride to the park. This summer we seen an addition similar to this at Canada’s Wonderland with Wonder Mountain’s Guardian, which could have been a testing ground before adding that type of ride to Cedar Point.

We doubt there will be a new record breaking coaster added since the park just added Gatekeeper last year. The last coaster added before Gatekeeper was Maverick in 2007, so yeah, it’s been a while in between new coasters.
Follow along on our socials tomorrow for an update around noon with all the details about Cedar Point’s new addition!
