New Extended Stay Resort To Be Built Adjacent To Kings Island
With all the construction happening within Kings Island, there is also construction happening outside the park as well.
A 106 room Residence Inn by Marriott is being built just north of Kings Island and Great Wolf Lodge on the site that used to house the old Kings Island Resort and Conference Center. The hotel, expected to cost $11 million, is being developed by the local firm, Keystone Hotel Group.
Subhas Patel, director with Keystone Hotel, said the company has owned the neighboring Comfort Suites hotel for the last 20 years. It was interested in adding an upper-tier extended stay hotel nearby. he continued to say “That interchange does not have a business grade hotel, the market deserved a business grade hotel”.
When completed, the hotel will fill the gap left by the Kings Island Resort and Conference Center. The hotel’s mix of suite types will provide a suitable environment for those traveling for business, as well as those using the extended stay resort for a trip to Kings Island.
As of April 22nd the internal structure and exterior walls have already been constructed for the five story hotel. The new building can be seen from the top of Kings Island’s iconic Eiffel Tower. The hotel should be fully operational within a few months.
In regards to the rest of the property, 14.67 acres of the former resort was purchased last March by Warren County Holdings for $6.3 million . However, it is unknown how they plan to invest in the newly acquired land.
