Dollywood Announces Something New For Their Smoky Mountain Christmas Festival
Dolly Parton has just unveiled the plans for new parade set to debut at Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas Festival this year. The parade will be called The Parade of Many Colors and will add even more excitement to this year’s festival.
The parade complements Dollywood already spectacular Christmas offerings which include four million festive lights, the remastered Christmas in the Smokies, and the all-new It’s a Wonderful Life.
The parade, like Dolly Parton’s new NBC holiday movie, Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love, celebrates the fun, faith, and family harmony of the holidays. Vibrant floats, interactive characters and some other surprises will spread holiday cheer throughout Dollywood this season in a way that only Dolly Parton could! She spoke about what the Parade of Many Colors means to her.
“The joy I feel during the Christmas season makes my heart sing because of the love and sweet Christmas memories I have of family and friends from when I was a child,” Parton said with a smile. “Christmas is the time of year when traditions, faith and family come together to create experiences we all remember forever. That is why my new movie and this parade are so important for me. I truly believe The Parade of Many Colors will inspire some of those same lifelong memories for the families who see it.”
The announcement today marks another instalment in the $300 million investment strategy that was announced in 2013. A few weeks ago, the park also announced the addition of TailSpin Racer to Splash Country for the 2017 season. We can’t wait to see what else the park has in store!
