Cedar Point Reveals 2022 Early Entry Ride List
Cedar Point Resorts guests, Platinum Passholders and Cedar Point Gold Passholders can start their day with “Early Entry” — getting special access to the park before it opens. It’s a great opportunity to get a head start on some of the park’s busiest attractions, including several for kids and families.
While guests may enter the park an hour early, not all attractions are available to ride at that time. Each year, the park offers select attractions that open for “Early Entry” one hour before the posted public park opening time. (9:00 a.m. on most days)
Today, Cedar Point has revealed the 2022 Early Entry ride list.
- Dodgem
- GateKeeper
- Iron Dragon
- Kiddy Kingdom (11 rides)
- Magnum XL-200
- Matterhorn
- Millennium Force
- maXair
- Scrambler
- Valravn

Notable changes from 2021 include the removal of Raptor, Maverick, and Steel Vengeance from the list. As you can see, most of the rides being offered for Early Entry in 2022 are located in the front half of the park — which now includes the return of fan favorites, maXAir and Iron Dragon.
To participate in Early Entry, Cedar Point Gold and Cedar Fair Platinum Passholders should have their physical season pass card (or their digital card loaded onto the Cedar Point mobile app) accessible at all times — you’ll need to show it for access at ride entrances.
If you’re staying at a Cedar Point Resorts property, you’ll need to pick up your Early Entry pass at the front desk before you head to the park (this includes Platinum & CP Gold Passholders).
Guests staying at an on-site Cedar Point Resorts property can present their Early Entry pass (provided at the front desk) along with your park admission ticket or Cedar Fair Platinum/Cedar Point Gold Pass and enter through the Magnum XL-200 Gate (located underneath Magnum XL-200 near Cedar Point Shores) or the WindSeeker Gate (located on the east side of the Cedar Point Boardwalk underneath WindSeeker).
Guests staying at an off-site Cedar Point Resorts property (Express Hotel, Castaway Bay or Sawmill Creek) may present their Early Entry pass along with their park admission ticket or Cedar Fair Platinum/Cedar Point Gold Pass and enter through the Main Gate at the front of the park.
Platinum Passholders and Cedar Point Gold Passholders not staying at a Cedar Point Resorts property may present their active Pass (physical card or registered through the Cedar Point mobile app) and enter through the Main Gate.
In the past, entering the park at the Magnum Gate was always a great perk of staying at Breakers or Lighthouse Point. Entering mid-park was always an advantage when making a trek to Maverick or Steel Vengeance, but with majority of Early Entry rides now being offered at the front of the park, this is far less significant.
This news comes just days after the park revealed a plethora of new experiences coming in 2022 — including an entirely new restaurant.
Cedar Point kicks off their 2022 season on Saturday, May 7. For tickets and more information, visit the official Cedar Point website by clicking here.
