Kennywood’s 2026 Season Adds New Events, Food Offerings, and Ride Experiences
Kennywood will open its gates for the 2026 season on Saturday, April 18 at 11am, launching a season packed with new experiences, returning favorites, and milestone celebrations at Pittsburgh’s historic amusement park.
The upcoming season reflects a continued focus on expanding the park’s overall guest experience, combining new offerings with returning favorites to keep the lineup fresh for both new and returning visitors.
Seasonal events have become a key part of the park’s overall strategy in recent years, helping to extend visits beyond traditional peak summer months while giving guests new reasons to return throughout the season.
This year introduces an all-new spring event, fresh food offerings, and upgrades across the park, all while continuing the blend of classic charm and modern thrills that has defined Kennywood since 1898. From roller coasters to food festivals, there is a lot for guests to take in right from Opening Day. Let’s dive in!

What’s New for 2026
Kennywood is rolling out a full slate of additions and seasonal experiences to start the year strong:
NEW! Celebrate Kennywood Weekends Saturdays and Sundays from April 18 through May 10, everyone is invited to celebrate Pittsburgh’s beloved amusement park. Grab your best spud, break out the matching Kennywood outfits, and get ready to celebrate with exclusive Potato Patch-inspired food items, nostalgic photo opportunities, and more.
Expanded food offerings continue to play a growing role in the overall park experience, with many parks placing a stronger emphasis on unique and seasonal menu items as part of their guest engagement strategy.
NEW! Centennial Grill An all-new food location brings back a beloved Kennywood menu item. Cheesesteaks make their grand reappearance at the park once again beginning on Opening Day in the Centennial Grill, located at the former Primanti Bros eatery, near The Whip, in Lost Kennywood. (shown below)
NEW! Big Dipper, A tribute to the Dipper roller coaster that entertained guests from 1948 until 1984, this revitalized ice cream stand will serve a variety of flavors throughout the season and is located next to Noah’s Ark.
NEW! Bites and Pints Food & Drink Festival Bites and Pints is back with refreshing drinks, tasty food, and two new countries, France and Germany, making a re-debut in 2026. Hungry guests can thrill their taste buds every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from May 22 through June 28, plus Monday, May 25.
NEW! All American Summer. Kennywood celebrates America’s 250th Birthday, Pittsburgh style, with its largest fireworks show ever presented by Zambelli on Saturday, July 4, special activities, and high-energy entertainment. Then, more than 300 drones take to the night sky every Saturday and Sunday from July 11 through July 26.
A Season of Milestones
Two of Kennywood’s most iconic attractions will hit major anniversaries in 2026.
The Whip turns 100 years old, continuing its legacy as a family favorite since debuting in 1926.
Meanwhile, Phantom’s Revenge celebrates 25 years. The award-winning coaster is getting special treatment this season, including a 25th anniversary logo, updated station details, mixed green and purple train cars, and the return of original station audio.
General Manager Ricky Spicuzza highlighted the significance of the season, noting the addition of Celebrate Kennywood Weekends alongside these major ride milestones as a way to honor the park’s history while continuing to build new traditions.
Returning Events Round Out the Calendar
Beyond the new additions, Kennywood’s full 2026 lineup brings back several fan-favorite events throughout the year:
The 76th annual Fall Fantasy Parades return daily August 1 through August 17, plus August 22 Phantom Fall Fest runs select days from September 11 through November 1. Holiday Lights returns select days from November 13 through January 3, 2027
For guests, the combination of new events, updated food options, and refreshed ride experiences creates a more well-rounded visit, offering something beyond the park’s traditional coaster-focused appeal.

With seven roller coasters, a one-of-a-kind Kiddieland, and a mix of historic and modern attractions, Kennywood continues to stand out as one of the most unique parks in the country, offering something for every type of guest.
