Dorney Park Celebrates 100 Years of the Thunderhawk Roller Coaster
Today, Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom celebrated the 100th anniversary of its iconic Thunderhawk roller coaster.

The all-day event, included with park admission, featured a special ceremony, live music, a variety of food, a pop-up history museum, special guests, photo opportunities, and more.
Originally named the ‘Coaster’, Thunderhawk was constructed in 1924 as an out-and-back roller coaster, offering a simple drop and return ride.

Over the decades, it has been renamed and reconfigured, evolving into the ride that guests enjoy today.

“Thunderhawk is a national landmark and an integral part of our park’s history,” stated Jessica Naderman, Vice President and General Manager of Dorney Park.

“We are proud of the generations of men and women who have preserved this roller coaster over the years, and we’re excited to celebrate its centennial.”

To enjoy Thunderhawk and other attractions all season long, guests are encouraged to purchase silver passes. These passes, now available online, offer unlimited access to Dorney Park, Wildwater Kingdom, live shows, and events.
