Kings Island Opening Exclusively For 2022 Season Passholders

Mark your calendars coaster fans! Kings Island is inviting all Gold and Platinum Season Passholders to an exclusive park preview Friday, April 15, 2022. The park will be open from 12-7 p.m. giving Gold and Platinum passholders an opportunity to experience their favorite rides and attractions before Kings Island opens for its 50th Anniversary season. This will include rides on the parks newest roller coaster, ORION — featuring a 300-foot first drop and speeds up to 91 mph!

This event is for all Gold and Platinum passholders (even if your platinum pass was purchased from another Cedar Fair park).

Enjoy a ride on Kings Island’s original roller coaster, The Racer. Take a spin on the refurbished Grand Carousel, or challenge The Beast. There’s also plenty of fun to be had for the little ones in the award winning Planet Snoopy. Gold and Platinum Season Pass Preview Day also offers the first look at newly painted attractions like the Eiffel Tower, The Racer, Drop Tower, plus new food items, games, and merchandise.

The 364-acre amusement and water park is home to some of the most fun things to do near Cincinnati. Now, the stage is set for a special summer-long, Golden Celebration, full of new experiences that tell the stories of the park’s first 50 years.

Whether you’re going to the park to enjoy the rides, have a bite to eat or watch one of the shows, you’ll see the story of the first 50 years celebrated in new and unique ways:

The question we get asked most about preview days is “Will it be busy?” While there’s a lot of variables that could create a busy environment at any amusement park, there are a few things to remember…

PLEASE BE KIND
Passholder PREVIEW days are basically dress rehearsals. Most of the employees are brand new and for some, it’s their very first job. Historically, if the weather is nice, it’s very busy.

PLEASE BE PATIENT
Lines may be slow. Operations may be slow. There may be issues with meal plans, drink plans, Fast Lane, etc. It’s a new season with new employees, give them some time to figure things out on their first day. Here’s a video from a past passholder day that was very busy, but a lot of fun!
