Midnight Syndicate Teams With Universal To Release “Music of Halloween Horror Nights” Album
For more than two decades, the music of Midnight Syndicate has been “the sound of Halloween” in the amusement park and haunted attraction industry. Midnight Syndicate’s music has become integral to setting a powerful mood at top-rated haunted attractions and amusement parks as well as at costume shops, Halloween parties and Halloween-themed cruises from Siberia and Hong Kong, to Europe and the United States. If you have walked through a haunted attraction over the last decade, there’s a good chance you’ve heard their music.
And for more than twenty years, the music of Midnight Syndicate has been a part of Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights. Now, fans of the event will have the opportunity to purchase a limited-edition “Music of Halloween Horror Nights” album at the Halloween Horror Nights Tribute Store, located at the Universal Studios Florida theme park.
The album features previously unreleased content and songs created by Midnight Syndicate specifically for Halloween Horror Nights, in addition to other Midnight Syndicate songs that have been used at the event and on the Halloween Horror Nights website since 1999. The limited edition run of 500 copies are hand numbered and pressed on red vinyl.
“We’ve had a special relationship with Halloween Horror Nights and the Universal Orlando Entertainment team for so many years now,” said Edward Douglas of Midnight Syndicate, “With this album, Gavin and I are extremely excited to memorialize some of the cool stuff we’ve done together.”
In the liner notes of the album, T.J. Mannarino, Vice President of Entertainment Art & Design at Universal Orlando said:
“It is difficult to overemphasize how much the music of Midnight Syndicate played in the historic success of Halloween Horror Nights. Our art and design team drew inspiration from the various tracks from many of their albums as we envisioned, created, and produced early websites, attractions, scare-zones, and haunted houses. Those same sounds played throughout the event itself. Proof of this invaluable contribution is evident in this compilation of memorable cuts. To this day, Midnight Syndicate music wafts through our design studios as we imagine worlds to come.”
“Music of Halloween Horror Nights” will be available at the Halloween Horror Nights Tribute Store at Universal Orlando beginning today, (August 26, 2020), while supplies last (and they won’t last long!) Located in the New York section of Universal Studios Florida and now open daily during regular park hours, the Halloween Horror Nights Tribute Store celebrates legendary themes and characters from Halloween Horror Nights’ past with a collection of limited-time merchandise and props that pays homage to some of the iconic characters and experiences that have haunted guests for years.
