New Attractions for Halloween at Carowinds
Beginning this weekend, Carowinds will be transformed into Scarowinds – on of the largest and most frightful Halloween events in the Carolinas. Throughout the event, guests can experience more than a dozen haunted attractions and live shows not to mention hundreds of monsters lurking in the shadows.
Debuting at Scarowinds this year is Depths of Darkness. The maze sends guests deep into the mind of the infamous State Line Slasher. The authorities claim to have finally captured the slasher, but guests are met with the terrifying truth that he’s still on the loose…
Other mazes this year include Urgent Scare, Zombie High, Silver Scream Studios, Dark Harvest and Slaughterhouse: The Final Cut. There are also six scare zones located throughout the park: Scary Tales, The Playground, Mass Acres, Psycho Circus, Bloodyard and Fleet Street.
There are also three ghoulish performances that guests can enjoy at Scarowinds.
Blood Drums- a grisly two-some of high-intensity punk rock
Rocktoberfest- an explosive concert of the best 70s and 80s arena rock
Skeleton Crew- a high-flying acrobatics show of supernatural talent
During the day, families can enjoy family fun at the Great Pumpkin Fest. New this year is Monster’s Lip Sync MAdness where kids can perform their favorite songs throughout the day. In addition, kids can decorate their own mumpkin (that’s a mini pumpkin!) in Linus’ Great Pumpkin Patch. They can also work their way through Peppermind Patty’s Hay Bale Maze or play with some furry friends in the petting zoo.
Younger guests are encouraged to wear their costumes and take part in Lucy van Pelt’s Costume Contest. They can also go trick-or-treating in Planet Snoopy every day.
