Cedar Point’s Mine Ride To Transform Into Cedar Creek Mystic Mine Ride
The countdown is on for Halloweekends at Cedar Point! This Friday (September 15), the park will open transformed with ghosts and monsters galore. Along with the Halloween themed decorations and haunted houses not usually at the park, you’ll see another change – the Mine Ride. Cedar Point has confirmed that Cedar Creek Mine Ride would be transformed into Mystic Mine Ride for the Halloween season.
According to Cedar Point’s Director of Communications Tony Clark, a section of the ride will be themed during the Halloween season. The theme hasn’t been released yet, but Tony did joke around about #whatsintheshed, giving a nod to the last big marketing campaign over at sister park, Kings Island. He explains the ride will feature new “special surprises” inside the covered section of track at the beginning of the ride after the coaster train initially leaves the station. The good news is we don’t have to wait as long to find out what’s in this shed as we did to find out what was in the shed at Mystic Timbers!
There’s still a lot of mystery surrounding the Mine Ride transformation, but whatever it is, we’re excited to find out. You can check out the interview Tony did with WKYC News here.
Don’t worry coaster buffs, the name change will only be temporary during the parks annual Halloweekends Halloween / HAUNT event. Opening in 1969, Cedar Creek Mine Ride is the parks second oldest roller coaster.
