SeaWorld To Open New Sesame Place Theme Park

It’s a great day for fans of Sesame Street. Today, SeaWorld  Entertainment and Sesame Workshop (the non-profit that controls the TV show) announced today that they’re extending their partnership through 2031. As part of the partnership, SeaWorld will be building a second Sesame Street themed park in addition to adding a Sesame Street land to SeaWorld Orlando by the year 2021. The exact location of the new park has yet to be disclosed.

The company already operates one Sesame Place theme park just outside of Philadelphia. Both Busch Gardens Tampa and WIlliamsburg already feature Sesame Street lands as does SeaWorld San Diego and San Antonio. The extended partnership between the companies allows for additional Sesame Street themed parks to be built around the United States.

SeaWorld’s partnership with Sesame Workshop illustrates the companies focus on education that they are continuing to embrace. “We share Sesame’s goal of educating and entertaining generations of children, and the extension of our partnership furthers SeaWorld’s mission to provide guests with experiences that matter,” said SeaWorld CEO Joel Manby.
