Matterhorn FASTPASS And Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT!

Disneyland has revealed some exciting new things this month! Just recently, Disney debuted a brand new Fastpass option for Matterhorn Bobsleds!

Disneyland is currently still using the classic paper return fastpass, so you just need to scan your park admission ticket at a kiosk cart near Matterhorn to get a return time. Currently this appears to be a temporary set up, but with construction in progress close by, we assume that a more permanent Fastpass distribution area will be revealed at a later date.

Although the Fastpass will be a huge convenience if you manage snag one, it appears to already be taking a toll on the rides stand by wait times.

So, if you’re going to Disneyland soon with the hopes to ride Matterhorn Bobsleds, be sure to arrive early as we imagine that this will be a huge hit and Fastpasses will go quick! Also, with the summer crowds coming soon, expect extended stand by wait times for Matterhorn.

Matterhorn Fastpasses are great news, but that’s not all! Over at Disney’s California Adventure, Toy Story Mania also received Fastpass service as well! This will really help make navigating the resort during busy season a little easier.

In the Hollywood section of the park work is coming closer to a close on the Tower of Terror’s transformation into Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!

The ride has already been seen running tests, and the park has also started airing tv commercials for the new attractions. Recently, Disney released more information about the ride experience. Disney confirmed that the attraction will have 6 different experiences and each with it’s own soundtrack with the songs listed below.

“Hit Me With Your Best Shot” – Pat Benatar
“Give Up The Funk” – Parliament
“Born To Be Wild” – Steppenwolf
“I Want You Back’ – Jackson 5
“Free Ride” – The Edgar Winter Group
“Burning Love” – Elvis Presley

Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! Galactic Premiere Party will be held May 26th from 7 pm – 1 am! The price is a bit hefty at $150 for entry into the event. It’s worth noting that the price does not include day admission into Disney’s California Adventure, but it includes opportunities to ride the new attraction as many times as you would like during the event plus, the chance to see all 6 experiences that the attraction will be programmed with.

There will also be a panel discussion with imagineers who helped bring Mission Breakout to life. Several Marvel characters will be available for meet and greets such as Hawkeye, Spider-man, Captain America, and Black Widow! The official opening day for the attraction is May 27th and Disney’s California Adventure will kick off Summer of Heroes inside the parks Hollywood Land which will run May 27th – Sept. 10th below is a list of all of the amazing experiences you can look forward to!

Guardians of the Galaxy–Mission: BREAKOUT! – This new adventure blasts guests straight into the “Guardians of the Galaxy” story for the first time, alongside characters from the blockbuster films and comics. As guests join Rocket in his attempt to bust his pals out of the Collector’s Fortress, they’ll experience randomized ride experiences complete with all-new visual and audio effects and music inspired by the popular film soundtracks.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off! – Star-Lord will fire up his old-school boom box to get a party started. Everyone is bound to get in the groove and show off their moves during this awesome rock ‘n’ roll bash!

Super Hero Encounters – For the first time, citizens of Earth will come face-to-face with tree-of-few-words Groot, one of the Guardians of the Galaxy! They may also encounter the First Avenger, Captain America, and everyone’s favorite web slinger, your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

For a limited time, guests also will discover more new adventures, exclusive to Summer of Heroes:

Avengers Training Initiative – Black Widow and Hawkeye assemble young recruits for a series of tests to see if they have what it takes to join the ranks of the Avengers.

Heroic Encounter: Black Widow – Black Widow will arrive on the scene several times throughout the day in an armored Avengers vehicle for her heroic encounter with park guests.

Grab a Piece (or Bite) of the Action – Special themed merchandise and food will be available throughout Hollywood Land.

After being closed for several months, the Disneyland Railroad, Rivers of America, and the famous Fantasmic night time show will be making a return! All the new additions will make for an amazing summer at the entire Disneyland Resort!
