VRstudios To Demonstrate VRcade Arena at IAAPA
Next week is the annual IAAPA Expo in Orlando and VRstudios recently announced that they’ll be demonstrating the VRcade Arena during the expo. This is the first time an arena-sized VR attraction has been demonstrated on the show flow at an IAAPA Expo.
What is the VRcade Arena? It’s the first arena-scale, multiplayer, free-roaming virtual reality system based on VRstudios’ Attraction Management Platform. The system has been developed specifically to be implemented without requiring a custom VR facility.
At the Expo, attendees will be able to experience a 20’x60′ custom configuration of the stand 40’x60′ as well as the capabilities of the arena and the Attraction Management system. The demonstration is being done on the Terminal 17 attraction that was recently announced. It’s an intense, multiplayer adventure game specifically designed for the VRcade Arena. Squads of up to eight are able to journey through a massive virtual world by moving through the arena and using a variety of virtual transportation methods. Throughout the game, players must work together to solve puzzles, defend the facility and advance through multiple levels.
VRstudios’ CEO, Kevin Vitale said,
“VRstudios will be demonstrating the capabilities of the VRcade Arena to IAAPA attendees interested in offering a large scale, high volume attraction that will fascinate and entertain their guests utilizing technology specifically designed for Location-Based Entertainment. The VRcade Arena and custom-tailored attractions, such as Terminal 17, provide an unprecedented, fully immersive VR experience that offers an exciting, VR attraction to complement LBE businesses.”
