VIDEO: Intamin Reveals New Coaster Concepts
Today, Intamin has officially unveiled four new coaster concepts to the company’s lineup.
The coasters introduced included two water coasters, a compact triple launch coaster, and Intamin’s single rail coaster concept.
Ultra Splash
The first concept is a combination of a shuttle and water coaster. Cars consisting of 24 riders are launched back and forth between two spires. After reaching the apex, the cars will splash into a pool of water, soaking the riders.

Giga Splash
The Giga Splash is the latest iteration of the full circuit water coaster design from Intamin.
The ride starts with a scenic journey through a twisting waterway. At the end of the waterway, riders will enter an elevator. On earlier versions of the water coaster, this elevator was built into the tower. The updated Giga Splash, has the elevator built on a turn table. This enables the ride to save space, while providing an extra element of thrill as riders will be spun as the car is lifted to the top of the tower.
At the top of the tower, the cars enter a near vertical plunge, before leveling out and entering a pool of water. Unlike most water-rides, this coaster has an airtime hill built over the flume portion of the ride. After exiting the airtime hill, the ride enters a final splashdown.

LSM Vertical Coaster
The third concept announced by Intamin was the LSM Vertical Coaster. The main features of this ride is it’s compact footprint and upside down launch.
The ride starts with a four car train entering a triple launch element. At the top of the launch, riders will encounter another launch while in the inverted position. At the apex of the ride, the train will enter a torpedo dive, which sends riders flying past the station. Pulling out of the fly-by element, riders then enter a Zig-Zag Loop (a loop where the apex is non-inverted). Pulling out of that loop riders will fly through the station, where the train stalls and returns to the station. A feature of this ride is the ability for the park to choose a one circuit or two circuit mode.

Hot Racer (single rail)
The final coaster “unveiled” today was the first visuals of a coaster originally announced at the 2019 IAAPA Expo. In an info pamphlet distributed at the show, the company announced Hot Racer – ” New single-rail track in combination with single row seated racing trains”.
The videos released today showed a compilation of potential layouts. The Infinity features 330 meters of twisted intertwining track and is touted as the world’s most compact racing coaster. A unique feature of this ride is the first double 360 degree roll vs s hump element.
The Overdrive is the second layout released by Intamin. This ride is 542 meters long, features a double launch, and features a wallride dive – an element that starts with an outward banked airtime moment and ends with a dive loop.
The final layout was the Autodome, which is 1019 meters long and provides a 75 second ride. The ride features 20 dueling moments, which is a world record.
