Universal Orlando Celebrates Fast & Furious Supercharged Opening With Movie Stars
Last night, superstars from the Fast & Furious franchise – star and producer Vin Diesel (Dom), and stars Chris “Ludacris” Bridges (Tej), Tyrese Gibson (Roman) and Jordana Brewster (Mia) – celebrated the opening of Universal Orlando Resort’s new attraction, Fast & Furious – Supercharged.
Diesel joined some of his Fast & Furious series co-stars for a celebratory moment that featured high-speed car action and an exciting stunt in front of the attraction. The event wrapped up with a countdown led by the franchise’s stars and a fireworks display. Check out the highlights in the video below!
Fast & Furious Supercharged will be the only place where you can see (and take photos with) 15 supercharged Fast & Furious cars – many of them driven by some of your favorite Fast family members. Each vehicle, including Dom’s iconic Dodge Charger and Letty’s Turbo Truck, has been crafted by Dennis McCarthy, the man behind the cars for the Fast & Furious films. Plus, a few of the cars seen in the attraction were uniquely created just for Universal Orlando.
Fast & Furious – Supercharged is the next attraction at Universal Studios to feature the new Virtual Line system. Guests can select a time to ride via the Official Universal Orlando Resort Mobile App or at kiosks located near the attraction entrance, and then enjoy other experiences throughout the park until it’s their ride time. Guests can also access a special mobile experience for Fast & Furious – Supercharged on the Official Universal Orlando Resort Mobile App while inside the attraction, including messages from Mia and the rest of the family, character bios, quizzes and more.
A few weeks ago, we took a stroll through the new gift shop aka the Custom Gear Shop. Inside, guests will find that it’s themed like a very detailed garage complete with shop lights and tool boxes for clothing stands. Above the merch racks are custom car parts to complete the garage feel. There’s even a very realistic figure of Dom to grab a selfie with before you leave!
