Universal Orlando Announces “The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle”
During the holiday season, Universal Orlando debuted “The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle”, a projection mapping show that brought Harry Potter inspired Christmas moments to life on the outside of the Hogwarts Castle. It was so successful that Universal has created a second show.
Today, Universal announced a all-new projection mapping experience coming to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The new experience is called “The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle” and will officially debut on January 31st. It’ll then run select nights throughout 2018. No matter which house you love, you’ll be able to celebrate your house pride as the new show will showcase all four houses of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
As night falls in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, state-of-the-art projection mapping, coupled with special effects and lighting, will wrap Hogwarts castle in a dazzling display celebrating the four houses of Hogwarts – Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin. The spirit and iconic elements of each house are brought to life on the walls of the majestic castle. The visual elements are all set to music based on the original scores from the Harry Potter films and create an immersive experience.
The new show comes just in time for “A Celebration of Harry Potter 2018”, an annual event hosted at the park each year. Over the three-day period, Harry Potter fans will come together to experience panels, demonstrations and shows inspired by the series. During this event, guests will be able to preview the new experience on January 27 and 28. Beginning at dusk, the show will run continuously each of these evenings. If you’ve already purchased A Celebration of Harry Potter vacation package, you can be among the first to see this new experience by attending the exclusive preview night on January 26.
