Top 31 Haunted Attractions 2019
Haunted attractions today are comparable to Hollywood movie productions, becoming more elaborate and more immersive than ever before! According to the Haunted Attraction Association, the haunted house industry is a $8 billion dollar industry with more than 2,500 haunted attractions spread across the United States. A recent poll showed that just over 29% of Americans visited a haunted house this season.
Every Halloween, we hear the buzz about the BEST and SCARIEST haunted houses and Halloween attractions, so for a fifth year in row, we gave the fans a chance to nominate and vote for their favorites. This isn’t a list of paid positions like other websites are known to offer. This is 100% true and fair fan voting! Fans nominated a list of more than 125 haunts around the U.S. and Canada. Then, throughout the month of October, fans had the opportunity to visit the attractions. The last weekend in October, those same fans voted for their favorite haunts. After more than 40,000 votes, here are the selections that YOU, the FANS voted as Coaster Nation’s 2019 Top Haunts!
1. HellsGate Haunted House – Lockport, IL
Of the five years we have hosted the Coaster Nation Top Haunts poll, this was by far the most competitive! After a tight race, HellsGate Haunted House took over the lead and ultimately claimed the title of top haunt for 2019!
HellsGate has been in operation for four seasons and quickly became a fan favorite. It is arguably one of the best haunted attractions in the country, built and operated by one of the most creative, powerhouse production companies in the industry, Zombie Army Productions. Lead by brothers John and Kyle LaFlamboy, Zombie Army is no stranger to haunted attractions. Their team has been scaring the pants off Chicagoland since 1998, when they started their award winning production at Statesville Haunted Prison. Successfully entertaining guests for over two decades is certainly a major milestone in the haunt industry. Congratulations to Zombie Army / HellsGate Haunted House on being voted the winner of Coaster Nation’s 2019 Top Haunt award!
