At a maximum height of 220 feet, the colossal steel structure of the new Steel Curtain roller coaster will serve as a landmark addition to the park and a high-energy entry point welcoming guests to the all new Steelers Country, an area that replaced the former Log Jammer flume ride.
Designed by S&S Sansei Technologies, The Steel Curtain will set three new records: a Pennsylvania state record (tallest roller coaster), a North American record (most inversions “9”), and a world record (tallest inversion “197ft”). Plus, the company is introducing a new feature they have dubbed a “Banana Roll”!
During the two-minute adrenaline rush, riders will speed through 4,000 feet of track at 75 miles per hour while navigating 9 inversions – including the world’s tallest at 197 feet above the ground!

Matching the colors of the track and structure of the coaster, the ride vehicle features the iconic black and gold colors of the Pittsburgh Steeler uniform complete with number 33 on the center of the lead vehicle – a nod to the year (1933) the sports franchise was founded. The vehicle’s seats are themed and shaped to look like footballs with the laces facing outward. The restraints on the vehicle are lap bar only (no over the shoulder restraint), and guests will notice just how open the vehicle is as the train twists, turns, and inverts smoothly at high speeds!
