Six Flags Great Adventure – Fright Fest 2014
Six Flags Great Adventure’s Fright Fest Presented by Snickers is in it’s 23rd year at the world’s largest amusement park. The event features family-friendly “Thrills by Day,” while an amped-up “Fright by Night” will deliver more scare zones, terror trails and haunted houses plus nearly 200 zombies and Halloween-themed shows and attractions.
Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ is offering an epic combination of thrills and chills! The daytime hours are family-friendly and offer the chance to grab some candy from your favorite characters in the trick-or-treat trail. Once the clock strikes six the midways become full of the living dead, ready to scare the pants off of anyone who dares to cross their path. Experience our terror trails, haunted shows and your favorite coasters at their scariest, in the dark!
Thrills by Day will feature the following:
- Six Flags Spooktacular Street Party
Street dance party featuring Halloween hits. You’re the star of the show!
- Paw & DisOrder
Animal antics ensue as we patrol the streets with our furry and feathery friends in search of the stolen pink diamond. Join the detective crew in this zany “who done it!”
- Sea Lion Scary Tales
Join flippered friends for this Halloween-themed sea lion adventure.
- The Spooky Kooky Magic Show
Magic show for kids of all ages!
- Doc Snooker’s Halloween Time Machine
Go back in time with hilarious Doc Snooker to reincarnate some of Halloween’s most notorious characters.
- You Otter Know
Get to know the adorable Asian small-clawed otters and meet sea lion pup Kona, just born this summer!
- Trick-or-Treat Trail
Kids can trick-or-treat and meet their favorite characters!
This year will feature three free scare zones and seven haunted walk-throughs. After 6 p.m., the chilling “Fright by Night” attractions come to life. As you tiptoe through scare zones and creep around the terror trails, keep an eye out for all the monsters lurking in the darkness.
Fright by Night Attractions:
- Crop Circles – New! – Additional Fee Required.
A new outdoor alien adventure! This section of the park has been overthrown by evil scarecrows and their alien friends. Venture into the corn maze while dodging vicious scarecrows, deadly crows, enraged farmers, and out-of-this-world creepy aliens.
- Total Darkness, presented by 3 Musketeers – Additional Fee Required.
Are you more afraid of the dark, or the unknown surprises that lie around every hidden corner? Step into a complete blackout maze and use your senses to navigate your way to the end. Make sure the person you’re holding on to is actually someone you know. You won’t be able to see which mysterious objects and creatures are accompanying you on your journey.
- Bone Butcher Terror-Tory – Free.
Western zombies have risen from the dead to terrorize the Frontier Adventures section of the park. They run rampant through the area, eating human brains, sucking human blood, and breaking human bones to get revenge on all the humans who put them in the ground.
- The Manor, presented by göt2b – Additional Fee Required.
Explore the haunted dusty rooms of the abandoned mansion, but beware of the gory ghosts of homeowners past. This team of vengeful zombies has risen from the dead to haunt, trap, and terrorize uninvited guests who wander the bloodstained hallways and abandoned rooms of their manor.
- Voodoo Island – Additional Fee Required.
This deserted island is inhabited by possessed practitioners. Take a tour of the secluded island, but beware of the unusual customs you’ll encounter along the way, including black magic, human sacrifice, cannibal carnage, and taboo rituals.
- Circus Psycho – Free.
This nightmare circus turns laughs into screams. Killer clowns run wild through the Boardwalk area, looking for unsuspecting guests to haunt. They hide in the shadows, while their cold eyes and creepy grins eerily glow under the moonlight, and their maniacal chuckles echo through the darkness.
- Asylum, presented by Dunkin Donuts – Additional Fee Required.
Enter the mind of an insane lunatic. As you wander the bloody labyrinth halls of the asylum, you’ll cross paths with devilish doctors, disfigured nurses, irrational patients, and demented guards that live in the nightmares of the inmates.
- The Bloody Fountain – Free.
Hungry colonial zombies lurk in the shadows near Liberty Fountain and Main Street. However, when night falls, the brain-sucking monsters come to life, searching for new human brains to feast on. Enter this deadly zone at your own risk.
Haunt Wristbands are available for unlimited access to all Terror Trails.
Fright Fest is open weekends from September 20 – November 2 plus Fridays in October and Monday, October 13 (Columbus Day).
Additionally Six Flags is hosting a special event on September 20th! The Survival Race has partnered with Great Adventure to host an epic family-focused 5k, obstacle course and mud run!
- 2nd Annual Survival Race – September 20, 2014
Join Six Flags Great Adventure for a family-focused 5K obstacle course and mud run. The event is for both experienced runners and couch potatoes ages 9 to 99. The mud run takes place inside the theme park with waves beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at 12 p.m. Every race ticket purchase includes a one-day admission ticket to Six Flags Great Adventure Theme Park.
