SeaWorld Reveals New Passholder Perks And A MAKO Commercial!
We just wrapped up a special presentation at SeaWorld Orlando! During the presentation, SeaWorld Orlando’s park president; Donnie Mills, debuted the first commercial for their new coaster Mako. Mako will open on June 10 at SeaWorld Orlando as the tallest, fastest, and longest coaster in Orlando.
The park also announced how passholders can be among the first to ride MAKO!
Passholders will be able to take part in multiple special events during the grand opening week including the media day activities!
- Attend Media Day Event: Passholders can sign up in the passholder lounge on May 21 and 22 at 10 a.m. The event is limited to 500 sign ups per day, totaling 1,000.
- FREE MAKO Quick Queue: Passholders will have a chance to get a free MAKO quick queue. That will also be limited to 500 a day.
- Early Entry: Passholders will also be granted early entry into the park until August on Tuesdays and Saturdays at 8 a.m.
Next, the presentation discussed SeaWorlds partnership with conservationist and marine artist Guy Harvey, (which was announced last Wednesday). You may recognize his name from the line of colorful apparel that fishermen everywhere love to sport; however, Guy Harvey’s passion for the oceans goes much deeper than the renowned art he creates.
The new partnership will be focused on ocean health and the plight of sharks in the wild. Together, they will work to raise awareness of these important issues, and collaborate on science and research to increase understanding of how to better protect these critical predators and their habitats.
Digital displays in the lines for SeaWorld’s shark-themed Mako roller coaster opening this summer will feature Harvey and riders will also see real-time shark tracking and videos from Harvey’s library of shark expeditions.
Today, SeaWorld revealed a new commemorative pass that will be available exclusively to passholders. In addition, Harvey will commission an array of exclusive paintings and clothing, available only at SeaWorld. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation.

New Mako merchandise including these awesome MAKO tee shirts were released for sale exclusively to pass holders. The shirt below can be purchased by pass holders in the pass member lounge for just $10.00!
Later in the presentation, during their Q&A with passholder guests, Donnie spilled the beans that the park may bring back their beloved mimes that were once part of their Clyde and Seamore show. This made SeaWorld superfans squeel inside!
SeaWorld is Real. AMAZING.
SeaWorld Entertainment recently launched its new “Meet the Animals” marketing campaign, which will highlight how SeaWorld’s parks provide the unique opportunity for up-close, personal connections with sea life. With the tagline, “Real. Amazing.“, the campaign will showcase a variety of the species in SeaWorld’s care by describing an individual animal’s character and personality, and will invite guests to come visit the animal at the park.
SeaWorlds new shark inspired roller coaster, MAKO, will be the tallest and fastest coaster in Orlando with speeds exceeding 70 mph! Based on Mako sharks, known for their speediness and their ability to change course quickly, the coaster will propel riders across a track that’s 4,760 feet long and down a 200 foot drop! It’s a “hyper coaster”, which is the term given to rides that reach at least 200 feet high. MAKO recently just completed it’s first test run. Check out the POV video!
The new coaster will make its world debut on June 10, 2016. Are you excited to ride MAKO? Let us know in the comments below or on our socials!
