SeaWorld Provides Online Learning Resources for Students, Teachers and Parents
Like most parks around the world, SeaWorld has also been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment has temporarily shut down all of its parks in Florida, California, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Texas as well as furloughed 90% of its employees. Originally, the shutdown was scheduled through March 31, but it has since been extended indefinitely due to the ongoing pandemic.
With its parks closed, SeaWorld has nevertheless continued with its mission of education and developed its own set of online resources for patents, students and teachers to use while the park is closed. As many schools switch to online distance learning, the park hopes to help parents, students and teachers incorporate the resources into their learning.
Amongst the resources are classroom activities, teachers guides, a saving a species video series, animal bytes and animal info books. The free resources can be accessed through SeaWorld’s education portal.
