SCarowinds Marks 25 Years of Fear With New Haunted Mazes and Added Cost for Access

SCarowinds returns this fall with a milestone season of scares, debuting multiple new attractions, an expanded lineup of haunted mazes, and a significant change for guests who want to explore them. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the Carolinas’ largest Halloween event will now require a separate Haunted Attractions Pass for entry into any haunted maze, along with a premium ticket option for its newest headliner, The Conjuring: Beyond Fear.

This year’s marquee addition takes horror to the next level. The Conjuring: Beyond Fear is a 20-minute, fully interactive “SCREAMium” experience based on the blockbuster horror franchise.

Guests step into iconic scenes from the films, racing to secure cursed artifacts before supernatural forces break free. Along the way, they will face notorious entities including The Nun, The Crooked Man, and The Ferryman, ultimately working to lock Annabelle back in her box before chaos consumes the living realm. Advanced special effects, film-accurate sets, and hands-on challenges bring the cinematic nightmares to life inside the Aeronautica Landing Theatre.

Tickets for this premium attraction are sold separately from park admission and start at $15.

To mark its 25th year, SCarowinds is rolling out four new attractions, one new scare zone, and a new live stage show:

  • The Conjuring: Beyond Fear – Premium SCREAMium experience (separate ticket required).
  • Defex 2.0 – Updated haunted maze with industrial nightmares lurking within.
  • Silver Scream Studios: 25th Anniversary Director’s Cut – A remixed take on a fan-favorite maze.
  • Glitch – New scare zone with chaotic energy and unpredictable frights.
  • DepRAVed – New live stage show blending dark humor, music, and horror.

For the first time, entry to the parks’ haunted mazes is no longer included with regular park admission. After purchasing park admission (or using a season pass) guests will then have several options to visit the haunted mazes aka haunted house or haunted attractions. Pricing is dynamic and varies depending on dates.

  • Haunted Attractions Pass – ($10-$30) Grants unlimited maze access in a single night. Does not include park admission or access to The Conjuring: Beyond Fear
  • Haunted Attractions Express Pass – ($29-$69) Priority access to haunted mazes plus a single entry to The Conjuring: Beyond Fear on the date selected. Does not include park admission.
  • The Conjuring: Beyond Fear Admission – ($15-$25) Sold separately and not included with park admission or a Haunted Attractions Pass.

Scare zones, live shows, street entertainment, most rides, and daytime events like Tricks and Treats and Oktoberfest remain included with regular admission.
