Rye Playland Seeks To Resurrect Iconic Aeroplane Coaster
Earlier last year, operations of Rye Playland was switched over to Standard Amusements. There was interest by enthusiasts on what the new operators were planning for the future of the iconic park.
Today, Standard Amusements revealed their plans and it was much larger than what many anticipated. The new plan released for Rye Playland calls for the installation of new rides, upgrading of the plazas, and expansions of the promenades.
The highlight of the plan would be the addition of a remake of the iconic Aeroplane Coaster in the place of the Volare coaster. The profile of the new coaster matches the profile of the iconic Aeroplane Coaster that ran from 1928 to 1957.
It is unknown who the manufacturer would be if the ride was built. For those wondering what the ride would look like once completed, check out this fantastic animated recreation of it made by Great Coasters International.
But, remember, documents do not always mean it will happen, so until it is officially announced by the park, take it with a grain of salt… For tickets and more information, visit the official Rye Playland website by clicking here.
