These wishes were answered on February 21st, as the first 6 ton segments of the fiberglass sphere element were lifted into place. Check out this video below of the construction progress.

The iconic sphere will tower 60 feet above the park’s main entrance!
The other thrilling feature of this attraction is also being assembled simultaneously. The half-pipe ending of the slide, which resembles a manta ray, will provide a thrilling end to each ride.
Triple your fun with the three-in-one thrills of Ray Rush, new at Aquatica Orlando. Ray Rush is the fully-loaded water adventure with three ways to slide, splash and soar like never before. First, water jets launch your raft from zero to awesome in just seconds. Your adventure takes a twisting turn as you spin inside a colossal water sphere. Finally, dive into the giant manta wings, swooping up and down a different path each time. Fill your raft with family and friends for three times the thrills on the exciting Ray Rush at Aquatica, SeaWorld’s waterpark. Guests must be over 42 inches tall to ride the new slide.
Remember, every visit to a SeaWorld park helps support SeaWorld’s animal rescue efforts with more than 31,000 rescues and counting!
Ray Rush will be the first major addition to Aquatica since Ihu’s Breakaway Falls opened in 2015. The new slide will be less intense than Ihu’s Breakaway Falls’ bottom drop out attraction. Ray Rush will open Spring of 2018.
