Plunge 70 Feet on Vanish Point – All New Drop Slide At Adventure Island

3…2…1… DROP! Starting tomorrow, thrill seekers will be able to “drop in” and experience a free fall sensation on Vanish Point, an all new drop slide at Adventure Island Tampa Bay!

The new slide was inspired by the point on a wave where water and gravity form a perfect partnership. This 70-foot drop slide lets riders choose between two skyboxes, each sending them through 425 feet of spiraling tubes until they reach the splash run finale. The first challenge is the chamber – or “skybox” as lifeguards call it. The tower has two skyboxes you can step into and then wait in anticipation until the floor drops out from under you.

Today, the park invited us to take a test ride and feel the rush as the floor literally dropped out beneath our feet! Coaster Nation’s Nathan Hodges literally “dropped in” on this chilly 50 degree day. After riding he said “It was truly terrifying”, noting that “Once you get yourself past the anticipation of the initial drop, it’s a blast!”

The second challenge – a 455-foot long slide ending with a high speed finale!

The new Vanish Point slide tower actually houses three slides in total: two drop-bottom capsules and one sitting slide circling 455-feet ending with a high-speed finale.

Stewart Clark, president of Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and Adventure Island said:
