OWA Set To Debut Revolutionary Waterpark In 2022

Since their opening in 2017, The Park at OWA, Located in Foley, Alabama, has achieved immense success. Receiving rave reviews from park guests and theme park enthusiasts alike, many wondered what would be coming in the next phase of development. It was announced that the complex would build a waterpark back in 2019 as part of an $100 million expansion. Today, the world got their first glimpses of the innovative new waterpark set to debut in 2022.

In a post to Facebook, OWA revealed the finalized concept art of the new state-of-the-art complex. The 65,000 square foot indoor waterpark will be the largest of its kind along the Gulf Coast. The innovative feature of the waterpark is it’s retractable wall that opens from the indoor waterpark to the adjacent outdoor waterpark.

The Retractable Wall is 128 feet wide and 26 feet tall and slides open to fully allow guests to flow from indoors to out in a seamless experience. The wall is the first of it’s kind for an indoor waterpark.

Inside the waterpark, guests will encounter slides and attractions designed for the whole family. Five of the slides will be part of a Proslide Water Kingdom play tower complex designed for younger guests, with one of the slides being one of the new Kidz Bowl slides. In the center of the park, there’s a lazy river attraction with a variety of interactive effects. The main slide complex stands on the far end of the waterpark. Three of the slides that make up this slide tower appear to be a Mat Racer slide. The other slides consist of a ProSlide SkyBOX, a ProSlide Tornado 18. ProSlide CannonBowl 30 (with three bowls), and an additional waterslide.

The outdoor waterpark features a FlowRider attraction, wave pool, cabanas, and an entertainment complex. Furthermore, a themed bar and grille will be located in the outdoor waterpark.

The outdoor and indoor waterparks will be connected to the Park at OWA by a path in between the Alabama Wham’a and Crazy Mouse attractions.
