More Fun, More Laughs and More Thrills Coming to Kings Dominion in 2017
Kings Dominion is known for an amazing children’s area and it’s about to get even better! The park recently announced that the world’s largest Peanuts-themed children’s area will be growing again in 2017. This coming season, three new family rides will be added to Planet Snoopy as well as a new event space and upgraded food and beverage locations.
In Kite Eating Tree, you can help Charlie Brown get his kite out of the tree again. Riders will be propelled to the top of the tower and bounce back down to the platform all while experiencing feelings of weightlessness.
Join Sally as she soars high above the sea in Sally’s Sea Plane. Riders will travel round-and-round as the giant sea plane rotates and rises through the air.
Rev your engines on Peanuts 500. Pick your favorite car and whip around the corners of the closed track. Start your engines and hit the track in race cars designed for parents and children to ride together as they move in a circle and whip around the corner on a closed track.
Kings Dominion is also debuting a new Pre-K Pass for the 2017 season. The pass grants complimentary admission to children ages 3-5 so that they can enjoy Planet Snoopy all season long! Online registration for the Pre-K Pass is now available and can be processed at the park beginning September 3. The Pre-K Pass includes one free visit during the fall of 2016 to enjoy the Great Pumpkin Fest in Planet Snoopy which begins on September 24.
BUT THAT’S NOT ALL! There’s more… and we are excited about it! In 2017 Kings Dominion will finally debut a Fun Pix digital photo pass, an updated mobile app and Free in-park WiFi!
Out of the group of things announced, we were most excited for the Fun Pix photo pass! It will allow for unlimited on-ride and other in-park photos for one price (price not yet released). The new and improved mobile app will feature live ride wait times, an enhanced user interface very similar to the app at Kings Island. The free in-park WiFi will be perfect for guests with limited data plans or poor reception.
The park recently teased fans there will be something else coming in 2017 that was not announced yet. Although we don’t know what it is, we have our speculations… The Hurler roller coaster has been closed the entire 2016 season and we could hear more details on what the plans are for it. Several Cedar Fair parks have been adding WinterFest events and Kings Dominion could be the next to do so, and also there is a chance we see an Action Theater makeover similar to the ones at Carowinds and California’s Great America.
