Happy Hauntings Kid-Friendly Fun Returns to Kennywood
The cornstalks are out; the pumpkins are picked, and the candy bowls are filled: it’s time for Kennywood’s Happy Hauntings!
Happy Hauntings begins its third season of kid-friendly Halloween fun Saturday, October 5, continuing Saturdays & Sundays throughout October.
Highlights of the event include Thomas Town at Kennywood, redecorated for the fall and including a new live show, Steel City Adventures, A Spooktacular Celebration! Older siblings and more adventurous youngsters at least 48” tall can also enjoy The Steel Curtain, which will be open during Happy Hauntings this fall.
Other Happy Hauntings attractions include a hayride through the Lost Kennywood section of the park, hay maze and trick or treat trail through a vampire’s abandoned mansion. Classic Kennywood attractions like the Potato Patch and Jack Rabbit will be joined by the 4D Theater, showing the immersive short film, Happy Family 4D. Written by bestselling author David Safier, viewers will experience the fast-paced, magical mayhem of Happy Family 4D as the Wishbone family attempts to reverse the spell that an evil witch places on them. Presented in 3D with in-theater special effects, guests will be spellbound as they follow the family on their ludicrously spooky adventure!
“Happy Hauntings is the perfect fall family event for those not quite ready for our award-winning Phantom Fright Nights,” says Kennywood General Manager Jerome Gibas. “By adding The Steel Curtain to this year’s lineup, we hope to make the event appeal to a wider range of kids.”
Kennywood’s Happy Hauntings takes place from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays in October.
