Iconic Eiffel Tower At Kings Island Closing

2022 will be a monumental year for Kings Island as the park will celebrate their 50th anniversary season. Guests will join the park in commemorating the landmark anniversary with limited time events, enhanced food offerings and all-new live entertainment – each telling the stories of Kings Island’s first 50 years.

You may have noticed preparations already starting to take shape around the park. When the park opens in 2022, one of the first things guests will notice upon walking in, is a shiny new paint job on the parks iconic Eiffel Tower. Over the next several months, the Eiffel Tower will be repainted as the park prepares for its 50th anniversary season.

To accomplish the major feat, the attraction will close on Sunday August 15th 2021, and remain closed for the rest of the 2021 season.

As one of the parks original attractions prepares for its new look, we thought we would provide some fun facts about it:

  • The structure weighs 450 ton
  • There are 15,000 bolts holding the structure firm
  • The average elevator speed is 10 feet per second, and it takes about 30 seconds to ride to the top viewing platform
  • There are 410 steps that lead to the top of the tower.

For those that want to take part in next year’s anniversary celebration, Season Passes for the 2022 season went on sale today and also includes admission for the rest of 2021.

More anniversary details will be revealed in the coming months. For tickets and more information, visit the official Kings Island website by clicking here.
