HolidayWorld Hosts Play Day Event And Reveals A New Waterpark Tube
HolidayWorld is known for their awesome thrill rides, great employees, and community outreach. Yesterday, HolidayWorld held their annual May Day event, “Play Day”, where the park was only open for guests of the Easterseals Rehabilitation Center of Evansville.
The event, which started in 1993, was the brainchild of HolidayWorld’s late owner and president, Will Koch. Play Day has raised nearly a half million dollars to support projects for area children with disabilities.
This year, ticket proceeds for the Play Day event have raised over $36,000, and went directly into building a playground for Milestones Children’s Center in Evansville. The playground will be named “Will’s Way 2” in honor of Will. Here’s a sneak peek of Phase One!
Furthermore, the park announced an addition to the Bahari River attraction. The attraction will now include specially made inner tubes for those who need support to sit comfortably.
The blue inner tube includes an insert, so that riders who need extra support to sit comfortably and float along the river will be able to do just that. If you or someone in your group or family would like to try using a tube with an insert, just ask the lifeguard at the entrance to Bahari River and they’ll be sure to get you one.
It actually looks really comfortable!
