Elvira Announces Final Season At Knott’s Scary Farm PLUS 2017 Halloween Haunt Details
Cassandra Peterson aka, Elvira, Mistress of the Dark made an appearance at The Mid Summer Scream Halloween Festival yesterday, along side Jeff Tucker for a presentation by Knott’s Scary Farm about their upcoming 45th season. She made the announcement that this will be her last season at Knott’s Scary Farm which is held at Knott’s Berry Farm amusement park in Buena Park, California.
The Queen of Halloween first appeared at Knott’s Scary Farm 1982 and she returned later in 2013 for the event’s 40th season. Since then she had a brand new show each season but that will come to an end this fall where she promises that her last show will be “Super extra special”. If you have never seen her shows there are already pretty amazing and we cannot wait to see what she does next! If you have never seen her show in person, then there’s no better time than this Halloween season! Just make sure you leave the kids at home, trust us…
So just when did “Elvira” start her career? Cassandra Peterson started playing her role as Elvira in 1981 when KHJ-TV was looking for a new host for “Movie Macabre” which was a weekend comedy show that featured B-grade horror movies. In 1982 she began making appearances at Knott’s Scary Farm where would appear again nearly every year until 2001 when new owners of the park wanted to take the fall attraction into a more “family friendly” direction…
Knott’s Scary Farm kicks off September 21st and runs select days through October 31st. For tickets and more information, visit the official Knott’s Scary Farm website by clicking here.
