Drone Aerial Footage Over Cedar Point’s New Valravn Roller Coaster
A drone has flown over Cedar Point’s newest roller coaster “Valravn,” and the view is amazing, as you’ll see in the video below.
If you haven’t already heard, Cedar Point is debuting a new dive coaster called Valravn for the park’s 2016 season. Construction has been progressing very fast through the winter months as the weather has certainly been in their favor. It’s a good thing for the Roller Coaster Capital of the World as their opening day is just under 2 months away on May 7th. Construction crews placed the final piece of Valravn’s track Wednesday.
The impending tallest, fastest and longest dive coaster in the world has some epic stats, claiming 10 world records for the scream machine and helping parent company Cedar Fair to stay on top of the latest coaster trend.
Here are the 10 World Records Valravn and Cedar Point will hold when the park opens for 2016:
- Tallest Dive Coaster at 223 Feet
- Fastest Dive Coaster at 75 MPH
- Longest Dive Coaster at 3,415 Feet
- Most Inversions on a Dive Coaster with 3 inversions
- Highest Inversion on a Dive Coaster at 165 Feet
- Longest Drop on a Dive Coaster at 214 Feet
- Most Roller Coasters at one park that are taller than 200 feet with 5 coasters
- Most rides at one amusement park with 72 of them
- Most steel roller coaster track at one amusement park with 52,125 feet or 9.9 miles
- Most roller coaster track at one amusement park with 60,110 feet or 11.4 miles
Cedar Point has been chock full of Valravn photos, videos, and updates since they’ve started full-time construction during the off-season. But one thing they haven’t released is an aerial video….until now. The park used a drone to show off the new coaster from all angles. It will be Cedar Point’s fifth coaster that is more than 200 feet tall!
Riders will be dropped at a 90-degree angle and taken through a 165-foot-tall loop. Valravn will become the park’s 18th coaster when it opens this summer.
A roller coaster isn’t the only thing that is new for 2016 at Cedar Point. There’s a plethora of changes including a new restaurant and an exclusive ride warriors club! Click here for details!
Cedar Point also announced that they’re starting their hiring process for summer employees. There is a job fair this Sunday March 6th. The event will take place 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Castaway Bay, 2001 Cleveland Road in Sandusky. Potential employees can learn more about available jobs and get interviewed on the spot. In addition to ride operations, jobs are available in hotel services, food and beverage, games, maintenance and more. If you live more than 30 miles from Cedar Point, on-site housing is available for employees.
