Dinner at Morimoto Asia at Walt Disney Worlds New Disney Springs!
Just last month Chef Masaharu Morimoto, perhaps best known from the popular TV program Iron Chef America—unveiled Morimoto Asia at the new Disney Springs in Orlando!

The top-rated chef owns and operates multiple restaurants, with his newest one just opening at Walt Disney’s Springs! We stopped by to give the new restaurant a try!
Walking in the door guests are greeted by a group of friendly staff (as usual at Disney), but you’re also greeted by the grandness of the place. The restaurant is huge with a big open floor plan that spans two stories. A Large crystal chandeliers hang from the ceiling in the middle.

There are private dining areas on each floor of the restaurant with a kitchen that is entirely view-able, but protected by a wall of glass.

The restaurant includes a 14-seat sushi counter on the second level. Here, guests have a chance to eat sashimi and a number of “speciality sushi rolls“. As for drinks, the restaurant mainly serves Asian beers, both by the bottle and on draft. A Morimoto signature beer by Oregon-based Rogue Ales is also available, as well as a number of sakes, wines, and cocktails.

The menu is HUGE featuring a wide variety of dishes and a kids menu too! We could show every page since there’s about 15 of them, but here’s a few!
Chef Morimoto was in the house while we ate filming a tv show called The Chew. The staff said he spent weeks at the restaurant training all the chefs.

We ordered the $14 appetizer portion of the Morimoro Spare Ribs – Pork Ribs, Cilantro, Hoisin Sweet Chili Glace. For three ribs, the cost of each comes out to $4.67. The meat fell right off the bone, but each rib was kind of thin on the portion of meat… the flavor overall was straight forward and really good, kind of sweet with the hardened glaze adding some crispiness. They’re definately worth trying!

Without describing every bite or every dish, we will just show you with photos!
Who doesn’t want to try an awesome shrimp tower!
Overall we had a fantastic meal while vising the new restaurant and would 100% go back! And we just might before leaving town, or in a few weeks while we are in town for IAAPA!
Reservation Tip!
The easiest way to make a reservation here is through Open Table at http://www.opentable.com/morimoto-asia. You’ll benefit from not having to deal with Disney’s cumbersome reservations page and there is no penalty for not showing up, though we’re sure the restaurant would appreciate cancellations as soon as possible.
If you don’t have a reservation, guests can hang out on the second floor at the longe, which offers a full bar and extra seating along with the sushi bar. If you are lucky there is no wait to sit in those areas. On our visit there this week, we didn’t have reservations. We were told the wait was 45 min but if we wanted to go to the second floor there was no wait and had access to the full menu just like downstairs. It was honestly a better and more personal experience because of the view and the sushi chefs talked and entertained us more!

The restaurant is now open for lunch daily at 11am 2am. Nearby BOATHOUSE also operates from 11am-2am and Jock Lindsey’s is open from 11:30am-12am Sunday-Thursday and 11:30am-1am on Fridays and Saturdays. So the folks who like to stay out late have some options.
Disney World annual passholders get a 10% discount on food and non-alcoholic beverages (for up to three guests) at lunch, starting November 1st. Tables in Wonderland are also accepted.
