Countdown to Cedar Point’s Valravn Dive Coaster Is On!
In just over 30 days, the world will soon see Valravn soar at Cedar Point. The new dive coaster is the latest and greatest attraction coming to the Roller Coaster Capital of the World. It is a milestone coaster as it’ll be the 18th in the collection at The Point and the 100th for scream machine builder Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M). The track assembly was completed last month and the work continues to have the entire ride ready to go for the May 7th & May 8th dates for the Opening Days of the season. When the newest bird swoops into Cedar Point this year, Valravn will be the tallest, fastest and longest Dive Coaster on the planet. The most impressive stats on the ride are 3,415 feet of track, 75 MPH, 223 feet height and 3 inversions; all of which help C.P. to garner the 10 world records. Now, let’s dive into some of the latest pictures of the bird-beast, shall we?
As you can see from the photos, things have been bustling along for the construction crew this offseason as the weather was a fantastic dance partner during the assembly process. The webcams (the first image below is an example) gave a nice view of what the coaster creature was turning into once the pieces were being put into place. Despite many fans expressing mixed reviews with getting this type of coaster, it’s still poised to get much of their attention this season. Dive Coasters throughout the industry have been getting the same mixed reaction from coaster enthusiasts; however, this one will be getting the Cedar Fair treatment. With the layout of Valravn, it appears to be a nice option for the family to ride together for a step up in their coaster challenges. Valravn will be a nice medium before conquering bigger machines like Millennium Force & Top Thrill Dragster.
The park just released tickets to it’s annual Coastermania extravaganza that’ll take place June 3rd. For coaster freaks who will visit the park for the first time during the season on this date will get to enjoy the vicious bird and it’s coaster neighbors with some ERT (Extended Ride Time). Those tickets are limited and purchases are restricted to a specific list of Coaster Clubs; nonetheless, the general public will get to experience it nearly a month before the event. So, tell us. Are you looking forward to Valravn? Will you be at The Point on Opening Day to experience it? Do you like Dive Coasters? Tell us in the comments below and on our socials!
