Video: Ohio River Floods Coney Island
Coney Island in Cincinnati, is known to suffer from routine flooding from the Ohio River during the offseason. However, this season, the river has risen to it’s highest point in over 21 years—resulting in the startling imagery recorded by WLWT out of Cincinnati.
However, even though the drone footage looks bad, Coney Island has been hit by worse in the past. In 1937 Coney Island was hit by flood waters that were nearly 30 feet higher! In a testament to Coney’s skill, they managed to re-open the park without delay as well as open a new coaster.
Coney Island is scheduled to re-open for the 2018 season on May 19th. For tickets and more information, visit the official Coney Island website here.
