California’s Great America Completes First Test of Railblazer Roller Coaster
For months, coaster enthusiasts have been waiting their first sight of California’s first monorail coaster in action. California’s Great America fulfilled those wishes with a recent update to the park’s social media channels.
After completion of the rock-work themeing, the park was finally able to begin testing their new prototype coaster. This video shows the eight car train flying around the 1800 foot course!
When RailBlazer opens in just a few short weeks, it will be the second Rocky Mountain Construction coaster using the 15.5 inch wide Raptor Track. Unlike it’s mirror image of Wonder Woman Golden Lasso Coaster at Six Flags Festa in Texas, this installation will not feature the moving station found on Wonder Woman. Below is a few close up shots of the train off and on the track.
According to California Great America, RailBlazer features include:
- The world’s first, one-of-a-kind single-rail coaster on a visually impressive I-beam no wider than 15.5 inches
- A straight-down 90-degree drop
- Two airtime hills, one 180-degree stall, a zero-g roll, and overbanked turns
- Three ATV-themed vehicles with eight single-file, in-line passenger seats
