Central Park Fun-Land Opens First New Attraction of 2018
Central Park Fun-Land has been undergoing renovations over the recent months to improve their environment and overall image of the park. The Indoor/Outdoor Virginia based Family Fun Center recently completed an overhaul with new paint, new carpeting, a colorful lighting display, and a major renovation of the restrooms. But, they didn’t stop there….
Fun-Land began to build on the new foundation, by installing a series of new attractions. The newest, and most vibrant attraction is the Clip ‘n Climb experience which opened for Season Pass Holders on February 16th, followed by an official grand opening on the 17th—complete with a Clip ‘n Climb cake!
The new Clip ‘n Climb is designed to be a fun, challenging, and thrilling family friendly experience that fits in with the environment and aesthetics of the entertainment center.
It offers nine different climbing surfaces. These surfaces are part of specific challenges such as:
- “Stairway to Heaven” – where guests step higher and higher in their attempt to reach the top.
- Twister”– a spiraling climb.
- “Face-to-Face”- a two person climbing wall where guests can race each other. The twist to this wall, is that the wall is translucent, allowing one to judge their progress against their competitor. wall allowing two people to climb and race against each other.
The area also features four solo vertical walls with varying degrees of difficulty.
- “Big Cheese”
- “The Racing One”
- “Amazeing”
- “Alien”
Remember to wear the proper footwear before making a trip to the park. No boots, high heels, sandals, opened toed, or open heeled shoes are permitted on Clip ‘n Climb.
Guests can experience the new Clip ‘n Climb attraction with a daily wristband or by being part of Central Park Fun-Land’s Season Passholders program.
Clip ‘n Climb looks awesome and of course challenging—however, this is not the only attraction being introduced for the 2018 season. Next week, the fun center plans to open a 4 Player Virtual Reality video game called Hologate. We tested this virtual reality game at IAAPA Attractions Expo in Florida this past November—and can say first hand it was amazing and FUN!
Central Park Fun-Land General Manager Clint Novak says that in June, the park plans to open Twist n’ Shout, a unique indoor roller coaster experience in which riders will circle 190 feet of track while their cars remain spinning! The new ride will be similar to the image below.
